About wine

The Aglianico vines grow with the Guyot system within vineyards located approximately 300-400 meters above sea level, in mainly calcareous and clayey soils, included within the Sannio Beneventano area. The bunches, carefully selected during the harvest phase by the La Guardiense team, are destemmed and the resulting berries are subjected to pressing. The must ferments in steel containers, macerating on the skins for 18 days, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. Refinement follows, which lasts 6 months and takes place in Allier and Troncais oak tonneaux. The winery, led by only three presidents in fifty years, has been able to adapt to the times and changing markets, becoming a symbol of technological progress for the entire province and managing to combine experience and modernity. It pays great attention to environmental sustainability by using renewable energy from its own innovative photovoltaic system for its production processes.

Tasting notes

The intense red color with purple hues. On the nose, the scent of cherry blends with that of vanilla. Taste is enveloping and intense, with important but silky tannins. Persistent finish with fruity jam returns.
