In 1996, Nicholas Hammeken, who already had experience in marketing and selling wine in various European countries, opened his own business. At first, the company was just selling and reselling wines from other wineries, but then, in 2001, they had their first own line of wines. The company follows the latest global trends in order to produce wine of very good quality and at a relatively inexpensive price from local Spanish grape varieties.

Winemaking

Continental climate with long hot summer. 30+ year old vines growing at an attitute of 400-800 m a.s.l., yield of 30 hl/ha. Harvest during the second half of October. Cold maceration at 5°C for 48h, fermentation for 12-15 days at a temperature of 24-26°C. Aged for 6 months in French oak.

Tasting notes

Deep dark ruby red colour with violet blue rim. The aromas are mature blackberries, ripe juicy dark cherries gentle notes of wild herbs balanced off with a dark chocolate. On the palate the wine is rich and juicy with good concentration between mature fruits and rich dark chocolate with a natural sweetness and gentle tannins that lay smooth over the palate.
