The Fillaboa estate, \u201cgood daughter\u201d, has its origins in the 17th century. The name of the farm comes from a local legend with many parallels to the story of \u201cCinderella\u201d by Charles Perrault, in which two daughters of a Count envied their younger sister to whom their father left the best land as an inheritance. . Fillaboa is one of the largest wine estates in Galicia, bathed in its surroundings by the Tea and Mi\u00f1o rivers. Next to the farm, there is a medieval bridge and a 1,600 meter stone wall that frames the farm. In Fillaboa, nature commands. In addition to an exquisite garden of camellias, olive trees, magnolias, and cork oaks, the Fillaboa vineyard is spectacular. 50 hectares of own vineyards are divided into 12 delimited plots facing south in which we find majestic vines on vines and on trellises.<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Winemaking<\/h3>\n

Made with 100% Albari\u00f1o grapes from one of Filllaboa\u2019s best plots called Monte Alto. This is the most extraordinary plot, defined by its height at 150 metres above sea level and its sandy loam soil with good drainage and abundant stones from the decomposition of granite, the parent rock. La Fillaboa 1898 has spent six years in steel tanks on fine lees, with regular b\u00e2ttonages to maintain the lees in suspension and, consequently, avoid oxidation to obtain better volume and roundness on the palate.<\/p>\n

Tasting notes<\/h3>\n

This white wine stuns at first sight: it is a clean and bright straw-yellow colour with golden glints and a unique and delicate tone. When we stop to contemplate its aromas, we discover a toasty aroma with a candied fruity background, reminiscent of baked apples and bakery products. La Fillaboa 1898 is a smooth wine, with very well integrated acidity, volume and long persistence.
