In the heart of the Roero region, in Vezza d’Alba, the Demarie Giovanni family have been managing their estate for more than three generations with hard work and a real passion for viticulture. The winery has over 20 hectares of vineyards in the districts of Vezza, Castagnito, Castellinaldo and Guarene. The company’s choice to produce wine exclusively from grapes grown on its own vineyards guarantees the authenticity of the product. Demarie is also focused on the sustainability of its wines: by 2020. In 2007, their first wine was awarded BIO product certification.<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Making wine<\/h3>\n

Every year, these grapes are pressed in the same way as they were in the 17th century. To achieve a smooth pressing process, a roller wine press is used, after which the dry matter, skins and stems are separated by means of gently pressurised presses to preserve the full aroma of the grapes. The juice obtained in this way is poured into stainless steel vessels and cooled to prevent fermentation.Direct pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks and stops before maturation to preserve the natural sugar and carbonation. The wine settles in the tank until it is ready for bottling. Purified bentonitic acid. Sweet wines traditionally use more sulphur to prevent the sugar from settling. What is added is the minimum necessary to maintain the quality of the wine.<\/p>\n

Grape characteristics<\/h3>\n

Moscato is considered by many to be one of the first grape varieties grown by humans. The aroma of the grape attracted the first people and sweetness was considered a luxury at the time. The Moscato family includes many different grape varieties, with over 200 different expressions of this grape. Obviously, not all Moscato or Muscat wines are the same, nor do they all taste the same, but they all have a distinctive aroma and expressive fruity flavour!The Moscato category has been promoted as a versatile mass-produced wine. Quality growers such as Demarie stand out and use only the highest quality grapes, offering Moscato with a fresh, lively and balanced flavour.<\/p>\n

Tasting notes<\/h3>\n

Wine without added sugar, carbonation and sugar is naturally the result of a shortened fermentation process. The wine is full of expressive floral aromas such as honeysuckle and orange blossom. The freshness of the aftertaste gives a sensation of sweetness and acidity from the Meyer lemon. There are countless reasons to drink Moscato d’Asti. With its low alcohol content, fruity and aromatic taste and the wonderful musky aroma of real moscato grapes, this wine is the perfect companion for a special occasion, a party or after a good dinner on any day of the week.<\/p>\n

Food recommendation<\/h3>\n
