At a crossroad between the road going from Gorizia to the summit of San Floriano del Collio and the one that goes down to the Preval lies the Muzic company, belonging to Ivan and Orieta and their children Elija and Fabijan. The authenticity of their work and the prevalence of native vineyards and old plants offer the opportunity to enjoy \u201cthe garden of Gorizia\u201d, the original Collio; you will be inebriated by the scents and flavours that the Muzic wines will give you, that recall the lush nature surrounding their wine cellar. Four generations of hard work and passions which find expression in the quality of their products. <\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Winemaking<\/h3>\n

This sensational wine praises the denomination DOC Collio. It is produced in the area of Collio, where the prestigious Muzic winery operates. The vineyards are spread in the district of San Floriano del Collio, Localit\u00e0 Uclanzi, Localit\u00e0 Bivio. It is a blend composed by Tocai Friulano, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla, cultivated on hills soils full of potassium, characterized by marl and sands of Eocenic origin. The plants are trained with traditional guyot method and produce between 60 and 70 quintals per hectare. The manual harvest starts in the third decade of September. The wine making begins with the elimination of stalks and a period of maceration, managed at 10\u00b0C for 12 hours. Then the soft pressing and the purification of the must through static decanting. The alcoholic fermentation, that lasts 8-10 days, is managed in tonneaux made of oak, with a continuous control of the temperature, that is set on 16-18\u00b0C. The aging \u201csur lie\u201d is developed the same containers and consists in continuous \u201cb\u00e2tonnages\u201d , from the end of the fermentation till the bottling. The maturation continues in the bottle for 12 months. <\/p>\n

Tasting notes<\/h3>\n

This wine is characterized by a straw yellow colour that turns to gold after some years. Its perfume is wide and delicate, with elegant hints of fruit, almond, bread crust and butter that become more spicy after a long aging. The taste is elegant, soft and sour. <\/p>\n

Food pairing<\/h3>\n

It goes along with savoury dishes like legume soup, white meat and grilled fish. It has to be served at 10\u00b0C in a high, tapered wine glass. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
