Vicente Gandia is a winery since 1885 and with a Mediterranean character. Due to the innovative character that has always characterized their winery and after many years of experience in the sector exporting wines, they wanted to go a step further and in 1971 they were the first Valencian winery to market bottled wine under their Castillo de Liria brand, which almost fifty years later still remains one of their most iconic brands. Today, they have a presence in 90 countries on 5 continents, they are the largest winery in the Valencian Community. In addition, in 2014 they were awarded as the best Spanish winery by the prestigious AWC Vienna international competition. That same year, the World Association of Wine and Spirits Writers and Journalists included them in its ranking of the 50 best wineries in the world. In 2018, the European Council of Enogastronomical Brotherhoods (CEUCO) awarded the \u201cAurum Europa Excellente\u201d award to Vicente Gand\u00eda as \u201cBest European Winery\u201d.<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Winemaking<\/h3>\n

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes with which this wine is made are born at the Hoya de Cadenas Estate, selecting the grains at the right moment of maturation to obtain the best raw material. Subsequently, the Ceramic Sauvignon Blanc fermentation takes place in oak barrels lightly toasted with volcanic stone imported from Iceland, this, unlike directly applying the flame on the staves, gives this wine a unique nuance. Finally, the wine has been refined in a clay jar to offer it a range of different nuances.<\/p>\n

Tasting notes<\/h3>\n

A brillant white wine with golden hues and a dense tear. The nose is imbued with tropical aromas with boxwood understones on a smoky base coming from the 500 litres barreks toasted with volcanic rocks from Iceland. The ageing in ceramic vats add fresh acidity in the palate, full body and a long elegant finish.<\/p>\n
