Quinta das Arcas was founded on the early eighties by Esteves Monteiro following a deep work of restructuration of the family vineyards initiated a decade before with a strong focus on the land consolidation and the implementation of modern agriculture. After 1985 the company was set up to bottle the wines already produced, putting on the market the first Arca Nova wines. Throughout the years, the company has paid special attention to production, following since the early days a path of quality improvement and minimizing impact in nature. 2012. In 2012 and with 200 hectares of vineyards in the Vinho Verde region, Quinta das Arcas produces its first certified bio wine.<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Winemaking<\/h3>\n

Fermentation with controlled temperature between 25\u00ba-28\u00ba, with prolonged maceration in stainless steel vats and also \u201clagares\u201d. Ageing for 12 months in french oak barrels (new and 2nd use). <\/p>\n

Tasting notes<\/h3>\n

Clear, deep ruby red. Clean aroma with good intensity with fruit and some secondary aromas adding complexity. Nice volume on the mouth, the tannins have medium intensity and the aromas of blackcurrant and cherry fade slowly with the long finish. The oak is well blended and brings a nice complexity to this wine. <\/p>\n

Food pairing<\/h3>\n

This wine pairs nicely with elaborated cuisine, meat like game and steak. Also good to appreciate with cheese. Serve between 14\u00b0 and 16\u00b0. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
