The origin of all things. The soul of the company. Barbadillo is the south and the sea. It is Cádiz and it is the west wind. It is Sanlúcar and it is tradition. It’s a century-old winery, and it’s the future. Its history dates back to 1821. to the year when manzanilla began to be produced. Since then, Barbadillo has not stopped developing, always looking for wines that surprise and leave their mark.

About the wine

Quãdis, a creative derivation of the ancient name of the city Quadis (Cádiz), gives its name to a red wine as Andalusian as the land that gave it birth. It honours one of the region’s most historic enclaves in a wine that shares its name and grandeur.

Made from Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Tintilla de Rota, it seduces with its intense, bright colour and intoxicating black fruit aromas. On the palate, it captivates with a smooth entry and a lingering, persistent finish.

At Bodegas Barbadillo, pioneers in the production of red wines in southern Spain, the almost extinct native variety Tintilla de Rota has been revived. With dedication, craftsmanship and passion, Barbadillo has proven that Andalusian reds have much to say. Quadis, made from a blend of red grape varieties and with the distinctive touch of the albariza soil, is a soft yet persistent wine that will not leave you indifferent.

Tasting notes

Deep dark cherry in colour. It seduces with its deep ruby hue, almost black in tone. Aromas of ripe red fruit intertwined with oak, with light notes of vanilla and liquorice. Smooth, generous and full-bodied on the palate, with soft tannins and long persistence.

Food pairing

Perfectly paired with traditional stews, wood-roasted meats, Iberian cured products, game and aged cheeses.
