Count Lynch associated his name with his wife’s family estate in the 18th century. The origins of Moussas can be traced back to the 16th century. Until the 19th century, the property consisted of three major plateaus: Madrac, Moussas, and Bages. In 1830, the Bages plateau was sold; in 1848, the Vasquez family purchased Lynch‑Moussas, followed by the Castéja family in 1919, who were also owners of Château Duhart‑Milon at the time.
1970. In 1970, Emile Castéja took over Château Lynch‑Moussas, classified as a Grand Cru Classé in 1855. onwards.
