Loupiac belongs to a cluster of lesser-known appellations in Bordeaux that specialise in sweet wines made from a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Located on the opposite bank from Sauternes, the soil and weather conditions are ideal for producing wines affected by botrytis cinerea (Noble Rot). Only 37 hectares of vineyard land are authorised to produce wine in this area. Loupiac wines offer a delicious and high-quality alternative at a more affordable price compared to wines from Sauternes.

Tasting notes

This is a creamy and highly accessible dessert wine, showing all the classic sweet fruit notes found in a Loupiac sweet wine.

It presents a medium-intensity golden colour, with a highly aromatic nose of dried apple, jam, apricot, lemon balm, and white nectarine.

On the palate, it is sweet, medium-bodied with flavours of dried fruits that echo the nose, supported by moderate acidity and finishing with a long aftertaste.
