This cognac house was founded by Pierre de Segonzac. Pierre came from a traditional bouilleur de cru (cognac maker who distils only his own harvest) family who settled in Segonzac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne growing region of Cognac (Cognac 1st Cru) from 1702. onwards. Pierre’s portrait is quite appropriately used as the company logo, but today Pierre’s grandson Pablo Ferrand runs the family vineyards at La Nérolle in Segonzac. The family still distils its own wine, ageing it with the same care and tradition as in the old days. Christian, Pablo’s father, is responsible for customer service and distribution – worldwide. Pierre would have been very proud to see the revival of his treasured brand and how it works today.
Pierre de Segonzac Private Collection 76‑79‑82 Symphony is an exceptionally elegant cognac crafted from a harmonious blend of three remarkable vintages: 1976, 1979 and 1982. Aged in 350‑liter Limousin oak casks, it comes exclusively from Grande Champagne — Cognac’s Premier Cru, renowned for its finesse and long finish. Drawn from cask no. 3.210 and bottled at 41.4% ABV, it is non‑chill filtered to preserve its full aromatic character. Each bottle was hand‑dipped in wax in May 2024, following a traditional artisanal method.
Amber‑gold in color. The nose reveals rich and complex lilac notes with a delicate hint of lemon. The palate is smooth and well‑balanced, offering nuances of candied figs and dried fruits.
Limited edition: only 328 bottles worldwide.
Gourmet Pairing Suggestions
- Avocado toast, poached egg in red wine sauce
- Chicken supreme, squid‑ink risotto
- Lemon meringue tart, macaron, cornuelle (a traditional anise‑flavored shortbread pastry from the Cognac region)
