Malbec

Folie Rouge is a brand created by Vignobles Bourceau in collaboration with Maison Borie‑Manoux. Harvested and vinified entirely at Vignobles Bourceau (winegrowers from father to son since 1835), these fifty‑year‑old Malbec vines are quite rare in the Bordeaux vineyard. Folie Rouge is a red wine from the Blaye – Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, combining both rarity and elegance.

Winemaking

Cold skin maceration (6°C) before the start of alcoholic fermentation for 4 days to enhance fruit extraction.
Aged for 10 months in concrete vats.

Tasting notes

Elegant like a classical ballet dancer, with an intense robe marked by a deep violet hue. Silky and generous tannins lead to aromas of violet, blackberry, black fruits and even tobacco.

Food pairings

Pairs beautifully with lamb navarin, duck breast carpaccio, fine charcuterie, marinated pork “spider cut”, or characterful cheeses such as Camembert de Normandie.
