The Bestel family is known to have settled in Mauritius around 1800. . Originally hailing from Sedan in the Ardennes-Champagne region of France, the production of fine liqueurs is deeply rooted in the family’s heritage. Following his father’s passion, who ran a small business distilling alcohol and liqueurs from sugarcane, Frederic began creating his own lychee liqueur during his studies, earning widespread acclaim.

About the Rum

Solera 5, which represents Mauritius as a whole, is a blend of various single distillates from the island. Refined through a complex process, it develops a harmonious and aromatic flavor profile after aging.
