In 1996, Nicholas Hammeken, who already had experience in marketing and selling wine in various European countries, opened his own business. At first, the company was just selling and reselling wines from other wineries, but then, in 2001, they had their first own line of wines. The company follows the latest global trends in order to produce wine of very good quality and at a relatively inexpensive price from local Spanish grape varieties.
A storyteller, Oráculo, from whose lips the wine gods speak…. in its bosom lays the ancient history of 80 year old vines. Tinta del País vines, touched by good fortune, are pure joy for your senses. Perched on one of the highest points of Ribera del Duero, their grapes tell the story of master oenologists. Oráculo is the one and only truth.
Extremely continental and rather harsh climate. Old vines between 80 and 120 years old. Vineyard of Peñaranda del Duero and the surrounding area. Cold maceration at a temperature of 5ºC for 72h. 25-day fermentation at 26-28ºC. Aged for 24 months in 100% new french oak barrels of 500L.
Deep ruby red, with intense aromas reminiscent of ripe black cherries, delicate toasted oak, cigar box, savoury game, tobacco and Asian spices. On the palate is dense, layered and succulent. This wine is well balanced with lots of soft velvety tannins, intense extract, and it has a long lingering finish.
