About the product

Seed of the aquatic plant (zizania palustris) called “water oats” or “Indian rice”, which grows wild in the swampy soils of North America. Traditionally harvested by canoe, American Indians considered it a sacred fruit.Very rich in fiber, protein and lysine (a beneficial amino acid). Supports freezing and pasteurisation maintaining an optimal state. When frying it in very hot oil, “popcorn” with a very unique texture is obtained.

Consumption advice

Recommended as an accompaniment or in a salad. Boil with excess water. Once cooked, it should be “al dente”. Cooking time approx. 20 minutesUse very hot oil in case of frying. Remove from the heat as soon as the grain opens.
