Teanum was established in 2000 in San Severo, the hometown of its founders, Domenico Demaio and Vincenzo de Matteo, as well as the first Apulian town to obtain the PDO designation, in 1968. Today Teanum has another winery in San Paolo di Civitate and boasts a production of 1.5 million bottles per year, sold in Italy and in some 30 countries worldwide.

Winemaking

This bottle was created to celebrate the memory of Vincenzo de Matteo, co-founder of Teanum. Part of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to an association that deals with cancer research.

Blend of grapes produced exclusively from Enzo’s vineyards, in the Il Vignale estate. Espalier training system, manual harvest.

Fermentation and maceration of the skins for approximately 20 days. Aging for 24 months in second passage barriques; maturation 12 months in steel and bottle.

Tasting notes

Wine with an intense red colour, it expresses itself on the nose with elegant balsamic and spicy fragrances, followed by sweet notes of ripe red berry fruit. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, accompanied by soft and velvety tannins.
