Amaro (from the Italian “amaro” — bitter) is an Italian strong spirit made from herbs, roots, citrus peel, and other plant ingredients. It usually has a sweet-bitter flavor and is consumed as an aperitif or digestif. Amaro aids digestion and is popular in cocktails. The taste varies depending on the producer and region.
Ferruccio de Bernard founded Distilleria dell’Alpe in 1948 in Bastia d’Alpago, a small village at the foot of the Cansiglio Forest in the Eastern Alps. The “Amaro del Cansiglio” is a delightful liqueur made by infusing 18 herbs and various berries from the famous Cansiglio forest. It features a fragrant aroma, a clean, round taste, and is made exclusively with natural flavors, without artificial colorants, preserving the traditional high quality of de Bernard products.
