The story of Masseria Jorche began in the early 1900s, when Giovanni Gianfreda established the family’s first “palamientu” (an old, traditional winemaking room — the earliest form of an organized cellar in Apulia) laying the foundation for a winemaking tradition that endured even through the devastation of phylloxera. In the late 1950s, his grandson Cosimo built the first fully mechanized cellar, marking a turning point in the estate’s evolution. Today, the fifth generation — sisters Dalila and Emanuela — lead Jorche with passion, expanding the winery, developing the Masseria hospitality project, and creating an innovative Primitivo‑based cosmetic line. Jorche’s vineyards include 12 hectares of historic seaside plots and 6 hectares of young vines, cultivating Primitivo, Negramaro, Fiano Minutolo and Bianco d’Alessano. Harvesting remains a manual ritual, honoring ancestral traditions. Surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean scents, the Masseria offers guests an authentic Apulian experience where history, nature and winemaking come together in perfect harmony.
