About the wine

Torre de Barreda Amigos is a multi-varietal wine that blends the native Tempranillo with two international varieties, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, which were planted in the 1990s.

The philosophy is that old-vine Tempranillo contributes body and refined tannins to the blend. Syrah adds freshness, floral and red fruit notes, while Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the structure and complexity. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels to achieve balance.

Winemaking

The grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard. Traditional maceration and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months of ageing in oak barrels (75% French, 25% American oak).

Tasting notes

The wine has a very deep colour and an expressive nose of ripe red fruit, soft spices and pepper. On the palate, it is juicy, straightforward and fleshy. Fruity tannins and a hint of wood round it out. The Syrah and Cabernet add structure and freshness, but it remains unmistakably Mediterranean in character. Serve at 18°C.
