“Character” is the password of Bruno Fina and his family. Fina’s wines are the result of a land that is loved and fought for, they have the taste of the passion and of that grapes that have been wisely turned into wine, thanks to the dedication of the work in the vineyard. They have the familiar warmth and the experience of who has always done wine and has always know how to narrate it. This is how you transmit the hereditary character of the territory and the harmony of the men that search for excellence on a daily basis.
Winemaking
Nero d’Avola is the expression of a particular vine native to Sicily. It has been of fundamental importance in the production of many Sicilian wines for centuries, however, its use as a blending wine prevailed. And it was only from the 1970s onwards that serious experimentation on this vine finally began, in order to study it and valorise it. Today, this wine is defined as the prince of Sicilian vines. The vines are trained to contre-espalier, with guyot pruning. 300 metres above sea level, with a density of 4500 plants per hectare. Yield of 95 quintals per hectare. Harvest in September. Fermentation in steel, ageing in steel, six months in 3000-litre barrels.
