The Cantina d’Isera is a cooperative winery founded in 1907, at the time of the Habsburg Empire. Founded by the will of the area’s winegrowers, it already harvested the prized grapes of Isera’s basalt hills. Always dedicated to the production of Marzemino di Isera, the symbolic wine of the area that has found its ideal habitat in the dark basalt soil of Isera, since 2004 the Cantina di Isera has also enthusiastically dedicated itself to the production of Trento Doc in the Brut, Brut Riserva and Extra Brut versions.
About the grape variety
Marzemino is an indigenous vine from Vallagarina that has found its ideal habitat in the dark basalt soils of Isera. In ‘Don Giovanni’, Mozart erected a musical monument to Marzemino, the quintessence of the pleasures of the table. At the imperial court in Vienna, this wine was considered to be among the most prized, according to the praise reserved for it by those who, like Don Giovanni, as well as its creator Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, made pleasure an art of life.
