Château Corbin is one of the oldest estates in Saint‑Émilion. The foundations of the château date back to the 15th century, and according to legend, Corbin once served as a serfdom center belonging to the Black Prince. Since 1999, the estate has been managed by Anabelle Cruse‑Bardinet, a fourth‑generation winemaker and graduate of the University of Bordeaux.
Winemaking
When a plot reaches optimal maturity, the grapes are harvested and placed in small crates to ensure the greatest care and preserve the integrity of the fruit.
Harvesting is done by hand, meticulously, plot by plot.
Then comes the precise stage of selection. In the winery, after three selective sortings, the bunches are destemmed and gently crushed.
The berries are then vinified separately. Their placement in the temperature‑controlled cement vats is determined by their plot of origin, allowing for a fully tailored and perfectly adapted vinification.
When ageing begins, the wine is transferred into rigorously selected French oak barrels from the finest coopers.
The wines are racked once or twice. Then, after 17 to 19 months, depending on the vintage, they are filtered and bottled.
This work of the land and these precise daily gestures, carried out with the utmost care, make Corbin’s wines true exceptional creations, born from luxury craftsmanship.
Tasting notes
A herbal, bramble nose with some meaty tones. This is fun but so refined too, the playful and bright cherry and strawberry fruit is delicious and succulent with sumptuous creamy edges. Effortlessly elegant, it’s really not trying too hard but gives fruit, acidity, texture, spice and minerality. Well presented, energetic and classy. Such a pleasure to drink, nothing too over the top but so well worked! Drinking Window 2025 – 2040
