Thanks to the acquisition of vineyards planted in the Pontet locality and the construction of the winery in Fumet, Roger Bardet produced the first cuvées of Château Pontet‑Fumet in 1962. Today, his grandchildren preserve this beautiful heritage located in the Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru appellation — a magnificent terroir along the Dordogne River, on the western side of the gravelly plateau.

Winemaking

Berry selection: a unique sorting technique (Tribaie, Calibaie, etc.). Maceration: full‑immersion infusion of the cap, allowing gentle extraction without pumping.
Vinification: extensive microbiological research has enabled full control of the winemaking process and reduced the use of sulfites. Fermentation takes place in temperature‑controlled stainless‑steel tanks.
Ageing: 14 to 18 months in oak barrels

Tasting notes

Displaying a beautiful robe with garnet and ruby reflections, Château Pontet‑Fumet reveals a complex and elegant nose. Silky and generous on the palate, its dense and balanced structure unfolds with impressive length.

Serving temperature: 16–18°C. Cellaring potential: over 15 years.
