The name of the property comes from the word “Roche taillée” (cut rock) as large quantities of limestone were used for the construction of the famous estates in the region. The estate is located in the commune of Ordonnac near Château Potensac, owned by J.H. Delon. Château Roc Taillade has been in the same family since 1870 and is now run by Stéphanie and Claude Francesco (5th generation!).

Winemaking

Clay-limestone and gravelly soil. Area of the vineyard is 20 ha, average age of the vineyard is 35 years. A density of 6000 vines/ha with an average yield of 45 hl/ha. Mechanical harvesting. Tasting notes

The important part of Merlot allows this wine to be enjoyed young. The color is deep. Nice balance with density and volume. The tannins are harmonious and tasty. The final is enjoyable.
