In the heart of the Roero region, in Vezza d’Alba, the Demarie Giovanni family have been managing their estate for more than three generations with hard work and a real passion for viticulture. The winery has over 20 hectares of vineyards in the districts of Vezza, Castagnito, Castellinaldo and Guarene. The company’s choice to produce wine exclusively from grapes grown on its own vineyards guarantees the authenticity of the product. Demarie is also focused on the sustainability of its wines: by 2020. In 2007, their first wine was awarded BIO product certification.
About the wine
Roero is a small paradise of sandy‑clayey hills with an ochre‑yellow color, covered by green vineyards that create a magical and enchanting landscape. The winemaking tradition of this territory, from which the denomination originates, has deep and ancient roots.
The wine is obtained from pure Nebbiolo grapes. On the right bank of the Tanaro River, Nebbiolo reaches its highest expression in Barolo and Barbaresco. In Roero, however, it produces a wine of rare finesse and elegance, which in just a few years has achieved remarkable success and recognition.
The geographical mention Valmaggiore is one of the most highly regarded MGA (Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive) of the municipality of Vezza d’Alba. This area is distinguished by its extreme slopes and is considered one of the most suitable zones for Nebbiolo cultivation on the left bank of the Tanaro.
