Domaine d’Orfeuilles is a historic estate founded in 1947 on the former grounds of a medieval château. Today, Bernard and Arnaud Herivault manage the 23‑hectare vineyard, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. Their Chenin Blanc vines grow on south‑facing slopes of clay, limestone, and flinty soils—ideal conditions for producing expressive Vouvray wines. Committed to organic and biodynamic farming, the estate focuses on preserving soil vitality and crafting wines that showcase purity, elegance, and the authentic character of the terroir.

Winemaking

VOUVRAY Réserve d’Automne DOUX comes from hand‑harvested grapes selected through multiple passes, choosing bunches affected by noble rot. After a gentle 7–8‑hour pressing, the highly sugar‑concentrated must is settled and then transferred into oak barrels for a long fermentation. This fermentation is entirely spontaneous, with no addition of selected yeasts. The wines are racked two to three times and finely filtered, then bottled the following autumn after another racking and fine tangential filtration.

Tasting notes

Its intense yellow color with golden reflections reveals thick legs. The powerful and complex nose offers aromas of quince, toasted bread, brioche, and orange blossom, mingling with pear and peach. On the palate, the attack is soft and creamy. Subtle notes of apricot and quince appear, accompanied by a hint of bitterness.
This wine has a long finish and shows great promise.

Serving temperature: 8–10°C. Cellaring potential: 50 years or more under proper storage conditions.
