Fondo Antico is a family‑run winery in the Trapani area, built on deep respect for Sicilian land and the century‑long winemaking heritage of the Polizzotti‑Scuderi family. Across 80 hectares of vineyards in Contrada Portelli, tradition blends with innovation, resulting in wines that capture the strength, generosity and distinctive character of Sicily.

I Versi is the basic metrical unit of a poem. It guides the reader, encouraging an interpretation that focuses not only on meaning but also on expression and structure. For this reason, our I Versi red, white and rosé wines form the foundation of our range. Crafted from both native and international grape varieties, these wines succeed in captivating the most discerning consumer as well as those with a less trained palate.

Versi Rosè is a rosé wine made from especially fresh and graceful Merlot grapes which, when processed at the right temperature, release a spectrum of flavours ranging from exotic fruits to spices.

Winemaking

Altitude: 100–200 m above sea level
Harvest period: from late August
Winemaking: 12 hours of cold soak on the skins followed by white‑style vinification at controlled temperature
Aging: stainless steel tanks and bottle aging
