Grand Bateau is the result of a close collaboration between Maison Barrière and Château Beychevelle. The boat on the label is reminiscent of the mythical drakkar of the prestigious Château Beychevelle, a sister company of Maison Barrière. Produced by their oenologist from the best batches selected from their partner estates, Grand Bateau embodies the nobility of great Bordeaux. Philippe Blanc, Director of Château Beychevelle, gives them his precious support for the final blending of Grand Bateau. Consistently impeccable quality, a unique style combining beautiful fruit and sweet vanilla notes in a beautiful complexity, Grand Bateau is designed to appeal to both young and experienced consumers.
Winemaking
Grand Bateau is carefully vinified using traditional know-how and modern techniques. The final blend, which combines wines matured in oak barrels and others, more traditionally, matured in vats, gives the wine its suppleness and exquisite vanilla notes.
Tasting notes
The nose has a nice expression of ripe fruit, spices and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is powerful, harmonious with fruit aromas that gently balance the woody notes. The tannins are melted, ripe and silky. Perfect to be enjoyed right now.
