The vine-growing traditions of Groß-Reipersdorf bei Pulkau have been a priority since 1858. onwards. For Simone & Hannes, being a winemaker means capturing the magic of nature, being sensitive to the year’s evolution and bringing the best qualities that nature allows into the cellar. Pulkau charms with soils ranging from Maissau granite to fine-grained loess soils at the foot of Manhartsberg. From these conditions comes the affinity of their red wine with the white wine-dominated Weinviertel, where they follow their tradition and rely on Zweigelt and St. Laurent. Simone Hiller-Jordan’s future is in wine and so in 2010 she took on the challenge. He took over the winery with great enthusiasm in 1999 and has run it with enthusiasm and passion ever since.

Classic Zweigelt — purple joie de vivre in the glass. Grown in our finest Zweigelt vineyards around Pulkau and matured in both large and small oak barrels, this classic expression shows intense cherry fruit and a fully developed, mature finish.

Tasting notes

forest berries, dark and spicy style, inviting summer cherries; wonderfully juicy and dense, mature right through the finish — a Zweigelt with an exceptionally high fun factor. Cellaring potential: up to 15 years. Optimal serving temperature: 16 °C. Decanting is optional but never hurts. Best enjoyed in a red wine glass.
