Bodegas Langa is currently the main winery in Calatayud and the only one with a long and uninterrupted family tradition. The winery is located in an emblematic area, considered magical throughout the human settlements that have taken place in the area. The Sierra Vicor, at the foot of which the winery is located, was a sacred place for the Celtiberians and had a prominent place in the work of the classical poet Marco Valerio Marcial.

About the wine

Langa treasures the family’s 150 years of winemaking tradition; the knowledge acquired in the cultivation, production and ageing of wines. This wine perfectly embodies the experience accumulated by five generations with the most modern production systems. The result is a modern, contemporary and innovative wine with well-integrated colour, fruit and oak.

Winemaking

Stony, clay and limestone soils. Manual harvest. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 25°C. Indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation. 3–6 months in American oak. Approx. 6 months in bottle.

Tasting notes

Ripe cherry red colour, deep with violet hues. Fruity nose (strawberries and raspberries), floral notes and wild Mediterranean herbs. Toasty ageing aromas, smoke and tobacco. A structured and balanced wine with excellent acidity. Soft entry that later reveals its tannic load, but with sweet, velvety and smooth tannins.
