Teanum was established in 2000 in San Severo, the hometown of its founders, Domenico Demaio and Vincenzo de Matteo, as well as the first Apulian town to obtain the PDO designation, in 1968. Today Teanum has another winery in San Paolo di Civitate and boasts a production of 1.5 million bottles per year, sold in Italy and in some 30 countries worldwide.
Winemaking
15 days of prolonged maceration in steel containers. Maturation in steel containers, bottle aging.
Tasting notes
Ruby red in color with purple reflections, it has spicy and balsamic notes on the nose. On the palate, it exalts the soft and velvety tannins, with good retro-olfactory persistence.
Food pairing
Ideal with meat in sauce and with mature, non-spicy cheeses.
