The longing for the unknown lives in everyone who seeks places far from well‑trodden paths — places like Mommenheim, one of the forgotten corners of Rheinhessen. Here, Jens Windisch found the freedom that defines both him and his wines. By carefully cultivating his family’s old vineyards and embracing ecological farming, he creates wines that restore a true identity to the region. His Rieslings and Silvaners from the distinctive single vineyards Harxheimer Schlossberg and Harxheimer Lieth reveal the full greatness and potential of this landscape. Growing on healthy limestone soils, the wines express their origin with honesty and purity. These are the wines of a forgotten land, speaking once again in their own authentic voice.

A joyful and lively Gutswein. A wine crafted with devotion from the Rheinhessen hinterland.

Winemaking

Stainless steel; controlled cool fermentation, early separation from the lees, gentle filtration.

Tasting notes

Clear, cool nose of red berries, strawberry and sweet cherries, with a slight vegetal hint reminiscent of freshly cut grass. Delicate and elegant on the palate, very straight and invigorating. Fine acidity, dry yet pleasantly balanced. Slim body, refreshing and highly drinkable.

Serving temperature: 7–9 °C. Best enjoyed: now until 2027+.
