In 1824, the vineyard of Château Beaumont was born and thirty years later, the magnificent Château was built in Renaissance style. Various illustrious owners succeeded one another, making Beaumont one of the leading “Crus Bourgeois Supérieurs” in the Médoc. Under the supervision of Philippe Blanc (Ch. Beychevelle), Château Beaumont has taken off in terms of quality since 1986 and continues to consolidate its position as one of the appellation’s best.
Winemaking
Сrête of Gunzian gravel with sand located on the highest point of Cussac, like the Grands Crus of the Médoc. Area of the vineyard is 110 ha in one piece, around the Château, average age of the vineyard is 20 years. A density of 6700 vines/ha with an average yield of 45-50 hl/ha. Mechanical harvesting. Fermentation and vinification in stainless steel vats. Consulting oenologist, Eric Boisseno. Aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are renewed every year. Bottled at the Château.
Tasting notes
Ch. Beaumont wines are generally characterized by their suppleness, a feminine structure that is often silky. The tannins are melted and rarely aggressive. All this contributes to producing a wine full of charm and finesse.
