The vineyard of Château La Croix du Casse, located in the south of Pomerol, one of the first terroirs of the appellation, represents 9.5 hectares of vines with a grape variety representative of the wines of the appellation: 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Its sandy gravel and iron dross soil allows it to produce quality grapes. The team at Château La Croix du Casse is the same as that at Château Trotte-Vieille, 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint Emilion Grand Cru. With the management of Philippe Castéja, and his experience at TrotteVieille and Domaine de l’Eglise, the team pulls the wines of La Croix du Casse towards the best of Pomerol wines.
