Château Picque Caillou is located at the gates of the city of Bordeaux, in the heart of the historic cradle of the Pessac Léognan appellation. A close neighbor of the prestigious Haut-Brion and Pape Clément châteaux, this 21-hectare vineyard bears the evocative name of a stony terroir originating from the millennia-old overflows of the Garonne.
Winemaking
Gunz-type Pyrenean gravel layer. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel vats. Post fermentation maceration. Aging 12 months, 30% new barrels.
Tasting notes
The color is very intense, almost purple. Very fresh nose, with a lot of aromatic purity. The aromas of wood are present but well integrated. On the palate, the wine is very constructed.
Pairing recommendation
Ideal with grilled beef and white meats in sauce.
