The monk Émilion, who evangelized the village that now bears his name, withdrew to a spring flowing at the foot of the cliffs overlooking the Dordogne. On this very spot stands a chapel dating back to the earliest years of the Christian era. It was around this chapel that the Romans planted the first vines of this famous commune, and ever since, the vineyards of Saint‑Émilion have continued to spread across the surrounding hills, producing the renowned wine whose reputation shines throughout the world.

Winemaking

Soil type: clay‑limestone. Fermentation: 20 days. Ageing: 6 months in stainless‑steel tanks and partially in oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Intense purple colour. Powerful empyreumatic notes with subtle hints of vanilla and oak. A supple attack, followed by a full, rounded body and refined tannins.

Food pairings

Roasted or sauced meats. Aged cheeses.
