Murua is located on a small hill near the town of Elciego, historically dedicated to the production of top quality estate wines. The vineyards are divided into 8 plots planted mainly with red grape varieties (Tempranillo, Grenache, Graciano and Mazuelo). In order to achieve the best possible expression of the different soils on the estate, particular attention is paid to factors such as soil composition and structure, as well as vine orientation and solar radiation.
Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature. Precise monitoring of soaking. Malolactic fermentation and decanting takes place in French and American oak barrels, where it is kept for 20 months. The winery’s own stocks are bottle-aged for a minimum of 4 years in underground bottle racks in the cellar to achieve optimal maturity and roundness.
