Deep in the southwest of France, about halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse, lies the famous region of Armagnac. And right in the heart of it, the estate stretches across 300 hectares of land and features a beautiful castle from the 13th century, the Château de Gensac. Vines have been cultivated here for over 600 years.
Tasting notes
Oak at the front, with a mixture of dark fruits- plums, blackcurrant & cherry aromas. Lovely ruby red colour. Ripe currants, cassis and raspberries on the palate. Hints of dark chocolate and oak reveal themselves at the end from the Tannat influence. In the finish, pleasant flavours emerge with a rich tannin influence with a lingering raspberry or blackcurrant jam-esque quality.
Food pairing
This wine goes well with tourtière, bison burgers, ribs and grilled veal chops.
