About wine

Verema Reserva is a red dry Spanish wine from the famous wine company Bodegas Vicente Gandia, made in the most prestigious region of Spain – Rioja. The wines of Rioja are rightly considered the most top wines of Spain, the most iconic wines of the country are produced in this area, confirming their high DOC status, they have a high aging potential. Verema Rioja Reserva is made from the Tempranillo variety, which is the hallmark of the Rioja region, possessing very distinct berry notes in the aroma, rich dense color and excellent characteristics for long aging in the barrel. The tannins of the Tempranillo variety are moderate, non-aggressive, which, in combination with low acidity, allows you to get powerful, complex, rich wines, which, at the same time, are quite drinkable and gastronomic. The grapes are harvested in the second half of September, when the berries have already ripened, but have not absorbed excess sugar. Only the best bunches are selected for Verema Reserva. After controlled fermentation, the wine is placed in American and French oak barrels, where the drink spends a long 24 months. After two years in the barrel, the wine is aged in bottles for another two years, and only after that can it be consumed by the consumer. Such a long four-year aging process is stipulated by Spanish law and no producer can violate it, only such a long and costly way can one get the opportunity to write the proud word Reserva on the label of the Spanish wine Verema. Thus, not earlier than the fourth year after the harvest, the Spanish wine of the Reserva category reaches the final consumer.

Tasting notes

Velvety, powerful, rich, very juicy and balanced. Expressed by cherry shades, notes of licorice and vanilla. With medium acidity, moderate tannins, a long finish with intonation of cherry stone. Aroma is thick, rich and multi-layered. It reveals incredible tones of richly soaked chocolate biscuits, intonations of cream and drunken cherries. The second nose reveals nuances of sweet spices.

Food pairing

Jamon, aged bright cheeses, fried meat, smoked meats will be the ideal accompaniment.
