Aradon was a city that existed from Roman times and mysteriously disappeared. It was located at an altitude of 550 m on the plateau known as ‘La Mesa’, which is now home to vineyards up to 90 years old that belong to a winery. Today and since 1957. Since 2003, in the town of Alcanadre, 36 km east of Logroño, Alcanadre’s winegrowers have wished to pay homage to Aradon by giving its name to their wines, which are made from very old vineyards, some of which are over a hundred years old. which they nurture with care and through the knowledge they have acquired over centuries and passed down from generation to generation.
Making wine
Grapes harvested at optimum ripeness are de-stemmed and undergo cold soaking. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation with gentle and continuous pumping to extract the elegant aromas that characterise the grapes of this region.
Tasting notes
Thick vibrant and fresh aromas that evoke thoughts of these Spanish villages; their people and their celebrations. This is a full-bodied young wine with a wild temperament. It leaves a pleasantly long finish with an aftertaste of red fruit and liquorice.
