In 1945, the first Bernard Robert champagne was born. Created by Marie-Madeleine Don and her husband Bernard Robert from a family of red wine producers. Both were trained in the champagne production method and during this very difficult period harvested their first harvest in Champagne, resulting in 300 bottles being produced. The property covers an area of approximately 30 hectares, located in 7 municipalities in the south of Champagne (BAR-SUR-AUBE, VOIGNY, ARRENTIÈRES, ARGENTOLLES, RIZAUCOURT, ROUVRES-LES-VIGNES, VILLENAUXE-LA-GRANDE). These hillsides are home to the four main grape varieties of Champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.

Wine description

This 2013 vintage, signed Bernard Robert, is a terroir champagne with unique aromas. This Blanc de Noirs champagne is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the Aube region and of the Bernard Robert house. This 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs was aged for 9 years in the cellars of the house in order to acquire a maturity commensurate with its potential. The magnum format (1.5 l) is particularly conducive to the ageing of the wine, notably thanks to the perfect oxygenation that takes place through the cork. The long years spent in the cellar have therefore brought this vintage to its gustatory peak. Dosed in brut (9 g/l), this champagne expresses the unique aromas of its terroir and its emblematic grape variety. It will surprise you with its distinctive notes of fresh spices and undergrowth. A true flagship of the house and a reflection of its family know-how, this magnum collection is corked in the old-fashioned way with a hemp string sealed with wax. A rare champagne, one of those we never forget!

Tasting notes

Deep and intense gold color. Nose expresses the aromas of a unique land: that of the Côte des Bar and Pinot Noir. It reveals notes of fresh spices, enhanced by scents of undergrowth and dried fruit, with a subtle hint of yellow fruit, particularly vine peach. On the palate, the delicate touch of this champagne dresses the palate with its generous vinosity and bewitches with its length.
