In 1996, Nicholas Hammeken, who already had experience in marketing and selling wine in various European countries, opened his own business. At first, the company was just selling and reselling wines from other wineries, but then, in 2001, they had their first own line of wines. The company follows the latest global trends in order to produce wine of very good quality and at a relatively inexpensive price from local Spanish grape varieties.
Vineyards of Gratallops, La Vilella Baixa, La Vilella Alta, Torroja del Priorat. Harvest during the first 15 days of October. Cold maceration at 5ºC for 48h, fermentation at a temperature of 26-28ºC for 3 weeks. Aged for 18 months in 100% new french oak barrels of 500L.
Clear deep dark purple colour. Pure and very intense aromas reminiscent of black berry fruit, red cherries and raspberries combined with mineral notes of flint, and hints of eucalyptus in elegant combination with toasted oak, spices, tobacco and coffee beans. The palate is dry, full bodied with rich concentrated juicy fruit, firm but ripe tannins and a refreshing acidity making this a great food wine that will age very well for the next 12-16 years.
