The story of Canard‑Duchêne unfolds as a tribute to an enduring legacy shaped by an unbreakable bond and a profound respect for the land. For more than 150 years, the House has remained faithful to the values established by its founders: harmony with nature, long‑lasting partnerships, and unwavering authenticity. When winemaker Léonie Duchêne and barrel‑maker Victor Canard united their expertise, they sought to craft Champagne that would embody the distinctive character of the Montagne de Reims — the land they cherished. Their passion, dedication, and belief in their craft laid the foundation for a style that continues to define Canard‑Duchêne today. The House carries this heritage forward, revealing the richness of its terroir and creating Champagnes that celebrate elegance, freshness, and a deep respect for tradition.
“Léonie Iconic reflects the Maison’s style at its finest: freshness, intensity and fruit elegance thanks to the majority share of Pinot Noir. It beautifully embodies the oenological path we began over twenty years ago and expresses our gastronomic vision of the Champagne terroir.” — Cynthia Fossier, Cellar Master
Created in homage to the co‑founder of Maison Canard‑Duchêne, the Léonie cuvée is crafted in a harmonious, balanced style that highlights the freshness and original purity of Pinot Noir.
Brut Léonie Iconic benefits from a precise blend containing at least 40% Pinot Noir, showcasing the Montagne de Reims and the Champagne terroir. The Cellar Master also selects a collection of reserve wines from the perpetual reserve, initiated in 2012, bringing freshness and generosity.
Aromatic and generous, this cuvée reveals delicate layers of exotic fruit and subtle spices with each sip, all while maintaining a structured balance.
Harvest Basis 2021 – A year marked by significant climatic challenges, resulting in a historically low yield but exceptional fruit quality.
Reserve Wines – 50% from the perpetual reserve, whose oldest wine dates back to 2009. Aged for a minimum of 3 years in our cellars. While at its finest upon release, it may be aged an additional 2–3 years if stored away from light at 10–15°C.
