Maison Cattier — Champagne with Heritage

Maison Cattier is one of the oldest and most renowned family-owned Champagne houses, with a legacy dating back to 1625.
Located in the legendary village of Chigny-les-Roses, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the House embodies French elegance and timeless Champagne tradition.
The Cattier estate covers 33 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, producing wines of exceptional depth, finesse, and perfect balance.
Its three-level cellars are among the most impressive in Champagne — a place of quiet and coolness where wines mature to grace life’s most special moments.
Maison Cattier is more than Champagne — it is a symbol of taste, prestige, and French perfection.

Winemaking

This cuvée is made from 100 % Pinot Meunier grapes harvested in Chigny-les-Roses, Rilly-la-Montagne and Ludes.
The 2016 vintage was special: after a mild winter and a wet spring, the season turned favourable in mid-July, leading to a harvest from 14 September of very ripe and concentrated grapes.
It represents the essence of the Pinot Meunier variety for this vintage.
Aged on lees for more than 5 years.
Dosage: 8 g/L.

Tasting notes

Colour: golden with generous fine bubbles.
Nose: dominant aromas of grapefruit, orange, strawberry, exotic fruits and apple, complemented by licorice and pine-resin notes.
Palate: full-bodied and well-structured — forest-fruit jelly, redcurrant and citrus (orange & grapefruit) gracefully giving way to tobacco and chestnut-cream notes, culminating in a long finish of licorice and forest-fruit.

Food pairing

Perfect as a starter: scallop carpaccio, prawn cocktail or king prawns with citrus.
Pairs excellently with pink-roasted lamb or duck.
Also complements strong, aged cheeses such as Abondance, a 12-month Comté or even a blue cheese like Fourme d’Ambert.
