This cognac house was founded by Pierre de Segonzac. Pierre came from a traditional bouilleur de cru (cognac maker who distils only his own harvest) family who settled in Segonzac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne growing region of Cognac (Cognac 1st Cru) from 1702. onwards. Pierre’s portrait is quite appropriately used as the company logo, but today Pierre’s grandson Pablo Ferrand runs the family vineyards at La Nérolle in Segonzac. The family still distils its own wine, ageing it with the same care and tradition as in the old days. Christian, Pablo’s father, is responsible for customer service and distribution – worldwide. Pierre would have been very proud to see the revival of his treasured brand and how it works today.
Cognac VSOP Pierre De Segonzac
A smooth entry leads to a round, unctuous medium-full mouthfeel with flavours of iris and baked fruit. Finishes with a long, smooth brown spice and brioche cream. A delicious, fruit-driven handcrafted style with a long finish. Haunting and fierce.
Recommendations for use
