Wine runs in the veins of the Reverdy family. For four generations, the family has been inspired by the same values: a hereditary attachment to the Loire Valley, an instinctive passion for the terroirs and an innate respect for people and work. Passion, integrity and accuracy are the key words that drive the members of the estate. Today, Jean-Marie Reverdy, guided by his vocation, makes the estate prosper with his wife Catherine and his two sons, Guillaume and Baptiste. The cellars are located in the middle of the vineyards. This unique situation offers a breathtaking view of the famous Sancerre hill and its vineyards. The Centre Loire is a tourist region renowned for its wines and appreciated for its attractive landscapes.
Terroir
Formed several million years ago, the terroir of Pouilly has been eroded by the Loire to multiply its facets of expression and aromas. Flinty clay, marl with small Kimmeridgian oysters, limestone or pebbles will thus welcome the Sauvignon grape variety and shape the ” blanc fumé de Pouilly ” in all its diversity and complexity. The wines that are made from it come from these areas. The vineyard is managed by demanding winegrowers who share the same philosophy as our estate. All of these elements contribute to making complex, balanced blends, typical of the appellation.
Winemaking
After a settling of 12 to 24 hours, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks at 15-20°C. At the end of fermentation, a first tasting is carried out to discover the particularities of the vintage. After a rigorous selection of the wines, the clarification, stabilisation and bottling operations are carried out at the Domaine.
Tasting notes
This Pouilly-Fumé reveals an intense and complex nose with fine scents of peach and acacia flowers, completed by an elegant minerality. On the palate, the harmony is very well defined, the mineral freshness balances the softness of the attack. This wine offers a lively and persistent finish.
Food pairing
The wine pairing is not trivial. A successful combination transforms the meal into a real moment of pleasure and conviviality. Served between 10 and 12 degrees, this Pouilly-Fumé will go well with a seafood salad, shellfish or white meat.
