The Cantina d’Isera is a cooperative winery founded in 1907, at the time of the Habsburg Empire. Founded by the will of the area’s winegrowers, it already harvested the prized grapes of Isera’s basalt hills. Always dedicated to the production of Marzemino di Isera, the symbolic wine of the area that has found its ideal habitat in the dark basalt soil of Isera, since 2004 the Cantina di Isera has also enthusiastically dedicated itself to the production of Trento Doc in the Brut, Brut Riserva and Extra Brut versions.

Winemaking

Facing east, altitude 300 – 500 m a.s.l. 5000 vines/ha. Gravelly, calcareous, sandy loam soil with good drainage capacity. Vine training – simple Trentino pergola – Guyot. Manual harvest in the second half of September. White vinification with brief maceration on the skins, static decantation and fermentation at controlled temperature. Maturation in steel tanks before bottling.

Tasting notes

Cultivated on the hills of Isera in particularly suitable areas where temperature excursions enhance the aromatic component, the Sauvignon Cantina d’Isera presents a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose opens on notes of elderberry, currant and white peach. The palate is lively and savoury, with mineral and salty hints.

Recommended serving temperature: 12° — 14°C

Food pairing

It perfectly accompanies raw fish, oriental dishes and asparagus dishes.
