Climate

Climate in 2021At the end of a winter of contrasts, the first buds opened despite the rain. At the beginning of April, a polar air mass descended from the north: already advanced in the vegetative cycle, the plots were damaged by frost. The weather was cool with little sunshine in April and rainy May. At the beginning of June, the vines, which had been vegetating until then, blossomed thanks to the good weather. Flowering took place around 10 June in ideal conditions. Thunderstorms passed through and on 21 June hail broke out. Until July, rainfall alternated with lulls, and more than ever the care given to each plot was personalised, with a view to prevention. In the second half of August, a north wind cleaned up the vineyard and allowed a normal veraison. The spared grapes ripened as more rain fell, which was good for making the berries grow. At the beginning of September, the harvest returned to our winery in small volumes, without any surprises. We had to monitor the ripening very precisely while circumventing the meteorological obstacles in order to achieve optimal quality of the grapes: the good aromatic balance and the freshness make this vintage a success all the same.

Winemaking

Covered with relatively superficial limestone soils at the top of the slopes and more clayey soils at the bottom of the slopes, the forty or so plots that give birth to this cuvée are carefully blended to offer you a Chardonnay that is faithful to the characteristics of the appellation.

Tasting notes

Notes of citrus, fleshy fruit, white flowers and minerality emerge from your glass.

This wine will be perfect with shellfish, fish or goat cheese.
