Located in the heart of the Burgundian Golden Triangle (Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault), Chartron et Trébuchet is today recognised for the very high quality of its white wines, including 5 Grands Crus, and is remembered by connoisseurs as the creator of the greatest Puligny-Montrachet wines, symbols of the House.
Climat
You have to follow the Serein to the north on the right bank to see Fourchaume. This flagship Climat, which stretches over nearly 4 kilometers between l’Homme Mort and Vaulorent, is sometimes difficult to grasp: straddling 4 municipalities (Chablis-Poinchy, Fontenayprès-Chablis, Maligny and La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne).
Winemaking
Traditional vinification: Direct pressing upon receipt of the grapes in a pneumatic press, settling, cold stabilization for 48 hours. Part of the wine is fermented in barrels and the other part in stainless steel tanks, at low temperature 16/20° to preserve the aromas. Part of the wine is aged in barrels and the rest in stainless steel vats. Aged on total lees for 8 to 12 months with regular stirring.
Tasting notes
On the palate, frank and lively attack with a marked minerality, supported by citrus notes. Beautiful structure with a very long, pure and fresh finish.
