Fondo Antico is a family‑run winery in the Trapani area, built on deep respect for Sicilian land and the century‑long winemaking heritage of the Polizzotti‑Scuderi family. Across 80 hectares of vineyards in Contrada Portelli, tradition blends with innovation, resulting in wines that capture the strength, generosity and distinctive character of Sicily.

we are pleased to introduce Lulu, Fondo Antico’s first sparkling wine made using the Charmat method. Lulu is a sea‑inspired sparkling wine, evoking citrus aromas, Mediterranean scrub and white‑fleshed fruit. On the palate it is fresh and savory, with a lively perlage. A wave carried by the salty Sicilian wind. A wave to drink.

Winemaking

Altitude: 70–200 m above sea level
Harvest period: late August
Winemaking: grape chilling upon arrival, soft pressing; first fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature
Aging: 120 days of lees stirring in a pressurized tank

Tasting notes

Color: pale straw with greenish nuances
Nose: grapefruit and orange peel, fresh floral notes, Mediterranean scrub; peach dominates among white‑pulp fruit
Palate: aromatic profile confirmed; lively perlage, round, fresh and savoury

Suggestions

It is perfect for aperitifs and also pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish and fish dishes. As time passes, Lulu’s bubbles gently soften in the glass. Serving temperature: 5–6 °C; advisable to chill gradually.
